A sad day indeed - a large tasting will always have its ups and downs but theres no excuse for it be accompanied by bad food - on a brief note had the 2004 Latour-Giraud Meursault 1er Genevrieres Cuvee des Pierre the other day which I really like and is relatively good value - Lovely concentrated rich honey and spice, generous ripe tropical fruit notes, very good balanced acidity and broad palette just lacking a little on length, very enjoyable - a good Domaine to look out for me thinks - also couldnt agree more - a decent Rioja with a bit of age is always a splendid fall back plan
