Oh crap - just read the news El Bulli is to close for 2 years 2012-13 for sabbatical and will apparently reopen in a different format - cant guarantee Im going to be alive in 2014 think we should make a concerted effort to get a table there next year though not sure how, the world and his wife wanted to eat there anyway, god knows it'll be impossible to get in now. http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2010/jan/26/ferran-adria-el-bulli-closed

I am traumatised, but, after my initial reaction I have realised that here are plenty of other great restaurants out there that are a great deal easier to get into. Theres a few here in Chicago that I really need to visit for starters.. Get your arse over here Nahthern and we can start eating properly again..

I will of course do what I can but everyone else is going to be pulling the same trick - could be beyond my fair means - youre right plenty of other culinary temples to make our offerings in but this is the fucking Haaj mate - and I dont care about all the muppets out there who slag the place off without actually going there, I have it on very good authority it deserves its cult status and I will be making concentrated efforts on getting us there
